With solid performance in tax and business law, the firm represents clients who seek distinguished services, in which the core objectives are commitment, dedication, study, qualification and results. Sitting between the extremes - boutique law firms and large law firms-, Pandolfo Advogados Associados sought to incorporate the qualities of the two models by aligning the high quality of its legal services with a solid and efficient structure capable of performing complex operations and processes.
The firm has its own model of work, centered on the person, on constant improvement, updatedness and on a relentless search for the best outcomes. The model’s success also stems from the adoption of the following premises:
A fruitful relationship is based on the ethical complicity established between parties. The stance towards and commitment to the solutions for the legal problems faced by clients are indispensable to achieve this goal.
Creativity is connected to study, dedication and capacity of association. Imagination establishes a new connection between seemingly unrelated elements and then recombines them. The result is an innovative response that meets the intentions and desires brought to us by the clients. This all takes place through dedication, time, technical expertise and comprehensive knowledge of each client.
Exchange of Information is a critical key to finding the perfect solution for any given problem.
To conceive the image as a reflection of the essence. That is why the firm invests in knowledge and in the tools that allow for the full development of its potential.
Human work demands method, yet it cannot be developed exclusively from a set of prefabricated answers. The law, seen from a unique and creative perspective, is closer to art than it is to mass production, seeking concrete meanings for each given context. Knowing the client and their problem in detail is essential to finding the best solution.
This requires investment, commitment, structure and availability, which are the premises on which the firm bases its work. Existing knowledge and the data presented are seen as a challenge, rather than as a limit.
The unit designed to perform a thorough study of all the activities carried out by its clients. Having in-depth knowledge of one’s client’s business is the only path to take to be able to identify the best tax and corporate structure for the company.
The work developed by this unit enables a comprehensive and systematic view of a client’s fiscal situation. It involves not only the definition of tax assets and liabilities but also the identification of the tax and corporate regimes that best suit each company.
n a competitive scenario with a high tax burden such as that found in Brazil, this tool is an essential variable to optimize results, especially when adapted to the operational and financial flows of each company.
In addition to this analysis, the unit also implements other specific projects in tax and corporate law, such as: corporate transactions (acquisitions, breakaways, mergers, etc.); planning and setting up of businesses; compliance and succession planning.

The discussion that takes place at the administrative level has its peculiarities. It is highly technical and endowed with its own procedures, which require expertise and experience. An active and strategic approach, combined with a true perspective of success for defended cases, have been responsible for the firm’s success rates in municipal, state and federal administrative litigation.
Excellence, agility and understanding of the practical and operational aspects involved in each question brought on by clients are features of the work carried out by the Advisory Unit for companies, trade unions and business federations. Among the range of activities undertaken by the Tax Advisory Unit, we can highlight the following examples: legal opinions and answers to inquiries by email or telephone; tax legislative assistance for the preparation or monitoring of legislation that is of interest to each economic sector; lectures and training; drafting of explanatory booklets; allocation of on-call shifts for inquiries; participation of attorney(s) in board meetings, business councils and tax committees.

The unit responsible for judicial action. The chances of a lawsuit’s success are enhanced when its handling is not limited to mere compliance with procedural acts (reaction). The handling of a lawsuit must follow a previously designed strategy in which active, interventional and intense action is pivotal. Proof of the success of this model is provided by performance indicators that measure the firm’s success rate.
In this model, the convenience of whether to follow through with the dispute of a controversy is also analyzed from the angle of economic cost and opportunity cost, in which the equation “effort versus result” is always duly considered. By representing clients in highly complex legal lawsuits with a high economic and social impact - defending both companies and business class entities - the firm has developed a concept of efficiency, earnestness and deep procedural knowledge.

Companies go through times of crisis, especially in an economic context as unstable as the Brazilian one. The safety and precision with which decisions are made in such circumstances are crucial. With this in mind, the firm developed a specific unit to help companies overcome these moments.
After careful consideration of each case, the unit’s multidisciplinary legal team suggests the most appropriate approach to meet the priorities identified and to overcome the obstacles found. The judicial or extrajudicial recovery of distressed companies and the identification of scenarios that recommend bankruptcy constitute the daily life of this highly specialized team.

The role of the third sector takes on greater relevance in light of the state’s increasing inability to meet social demands. The firm believes in and supports civil society activities that are organized towards building a fairer society. Thus, it developed a qualified and recognized work group dedicated to the third sector and its intricate regulatory framework.
Overcoming bureaucratic, documentary, statutory and functional barriers, the firm’s specialized operations have secured to many health, education and research organizations the enjoyment of the “no-charge” tax regimes (exemptions, immunities) that are provided for in our legal system.
